Preparing for your move

How will Switchplace help find my temporary home?

In order for us to begin our search among our vast network of apartment communities, simply tell us where and when you need an apartment, as well as any other specific requirements such as number of bedrooms or particular furniture packages.

We don’t try to fill an inventory of real estate like other temporary housing providers, which means we can tailor our solutions to your specific needs. Just tell us if you’d prefer a certain distance from your office, a specific school district for your children or a particular neighborhood and we’ll do the rest.

What arrangements do I need to make before my move?

All you need to do is sign our rental agreement to reserve your temporary home. After that, we’ll set up your lease, electricity, utilities, cable, Internet, furniture, accessories and everything else you need during your stay.

When you arrive at your new home, all you will need is your suitcase with your personal items.

How and when can I request upgrades for my temporary home?

You can request upgrades at anytime prior to or during your stay in your temporary home by calling our toll-free number at 888-571-6230. [available upgrades]

Moving in

How does the move-in process work?

As soon as you sign your rental agreement, we’ll send you a welcome letter that has all the information you need for your move-in day, including:

  • – Directions
  • – Instructions on how to access your apartment and arrange key pickup
  • – Your address and phone number at your temporary home
  • – Details about your apartment community
  • – Switchplace guest services contacts available 24/7
What information do I need to provide/present when I move in?

We recommend that you bring your welcome letter with you on your move-in day. Occasionally, the leasing agent will require you to show some form of identification when picking up the keys, so you should be prepared to provide a valid ID, upon request.

Who do I call if there are problems with my apartment?

You can call our office with any issues/problems at anytime of day. Our normal business hours are from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. CST. However, should an emergency arise such as a lock out, plumbing issue, or heat/air conditioning issue, a representative is available 24 hours a day/7 days a week to handle your emergency. Call our toll-free number at 888-571-6230.
